The fireplace is something we have all grown up with, and it truly is a key component of what Christmas has become for many. The fire that burns so brightly in it’s hearth, radiating warmth and life throughout your home, is the same one that Santa uses to help him deliver his presents to each and every one of us on Christmas Eve. It's beautiful to see how the fireplace has become so symbolic of this special holiday season. Read more about how to decorate mantels for christmas here.
How are fireplace mantels attached?
There are a number of ways fireplace mantels can be attached to your home's wall. Floating mantels, which stand alone without any additional support, can either be screwed in using lag screws or attached using brackets. If you're installing a mantel that is part of a complete fireplace surround, it will be attached to the wall using brackets and screws. Read more on how to install a wooden mantel here.
